Family Business Management

Prerequisite: Completion or exemption from English and Mathematics Learning Support requirements. This course offers students the opportunity to explore, understand and develop plans for the unique challenges faced by family businesses. This course will explore areas such as business formation, growth and expansion, strategic management, professionalism, succession, location choices, family dynamics, conflicts and relationships relative to the business. Case studies will explore family business – both successful and not. The content of the course will include lectures, case studies, and group project work and presentations.
