Overview
Description
Through the development of basic choral conducting techniques, students will begin to understand the physical gestures and essential concepts needed to produce a quality choral sound. An emphasis will be placed on developing basic choral conducting skills, studying and analyzing appropriate choral literature, and implementing correct vocal diction. A focus of this course will be placed on choral rehearsal management and maintaining ensemble membership. Effective rehearsal techniques and strategies, building a lasting choral program, choosing and performing culturally diverse and meaningful choral music will be studied and discussed. Prerequisite(s): MUSC 1182A, MUSC 1182B, and MUSC 2090 with a minimum grade of C.
